We believe you should know the back-room boys and girls first of all. Many of you who haven't yet visited the shop and contact us for advice, with an enquiry or an order, will first of all come into contact with our hard working team who answer the telephone, pick the orders and deliver the goods. So busy are they delivering the goods, we have struggled to get a team photograph!
Here is a brief résumé of who you may encounter when contacting us;
Maree - joined us early in May 1996 from the hotel industry. Turning her hand to almost any department in the business this petite lassie deserves a medal for endurance if nothing else. To maintain her interest Bob now refers to her as his personal assistant which is like starting a new job all-over again, eh Maree?
Trevor - a victim of redundancy from the "industrial revolution" never thought he would be an office clerk let alone a telephonist, well that is what he is and he does a damned fine job at it.
Marc - The big guy with the shaved head and a heart of gold say some. At his happiest delivering and driving round the Dales, Marc doubles as the warehouse "organiser" and he makes a pretty good job of that too.
Andrew - rescued from the on-trade that has never been good for a young couples marriage! We accept no responsibility for them now being a family of four but, as Andrew says, after the pub trade this is a doddle! As a company we know that that means Andrew is no stranger to turning his hand to anything that is going on, and that is what he does.
Andy - Thrown in at the deep end after joining us a month before Christmas 2009. What a time to be changing jobs, but when The Wine Rack ceased to trade, Andy had no say in the matter as to when it would be. So, with a few years as sales assistant and a couple of years as assistant manager he was well prepared for joining our team. That was of course until we introduced him to pallets of wine, as opposed to bottles, and a forklift truck. Like all our sales team, Andy is proficient in WSET courses and passed his Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits with merit since joining our team. With an interest in theatrical productions as light and cameraman, he spends most of his spare time bettering himself in Tomiki Aikido and Taekwondo. We are all awaiting his demonstration.........................
And now for the people you are most likely to meet, that is of course with the exception of Bob, our founder, who sadly passed away late June 2012.
