Collector to Collector | |
|
The purpose of Collector to Collector is a vehicle for some of our collector friends to dispense of some of their spare bottles. They will be displayed in the shop, separately to our stock, and will not be subject to any club member discount. If you are interested in using this service, please contact Julian or Katie. We already have a lot more whiskies lined up for inclusion in this section so there may be a queue. |

Balblair 5 year old, 40%, 75cl bottle A fantastic Dumpy bottle presentation of this as a 5 year old. From the House of Ballantines, this is a cracking bottle, that looks fantastic. Of course very collectable because of its age, volume, presentation, even more so because of the change of ownership of the distillery to Inverhouse Distillers. |

The Balvenie Founders Reserve, 75cl,10 year old, 40% (Boxed) The Cognac shaped bottle, although I always thought of it as the Janneau Armagnac shaped bottle. When recently up at Balvenie, they were quite excited about this bottle, admittedly they were even more excited about a bottle of 8 y.o. that I have in the Glenfiddich style bottle with black fake leather label. Anyway this one is a beauty and its boxed with original tissue wrapping. Fantastic condition |

Bunnahabhain 1963, 43%, 70cl Good old bottle in the presentation tube. I believe there was some controversy with this bottle in the fact that it was originally bottled in 1984 as a 21 y.o, but it was then not allowed to be released. It was then re-bottled much later and sold to give the impression of being a much older whisky. I could be wrong with this fact? |

y.o. This tends to be one of the more difficult of the Flora and Faunas to find (Speyburn, Brackla and Aberfeldy are more difficult!). This is boxed in the cardboard presentation. |

Collection only on this rare fella. You know the story, closed distillery in 1983, now a museum, this was the last cask filled at the distillery, flashy box and presentation, bottle no 111, a wonderful piece of history on this one. |

Distilled 10/11/1972, bottled 26/06/1996, Cask number 228442, bottle number 218 of 255 a rare find from the distillery which closed in the early eighties. An absolute belter far more impressive than other bottlings. |

Glendullan, 12 years old, 82.3
proof, 26 2/3 fl.oz, Not boxed 82.3 proof - what a weird measurement? With the picture of the Still on the label, this is an old bottling from the late seventies, I think?, bottled by the owners Macdonald Greenlees Ltd. There is a very slight smudging on the i of single (not as bad as Longrow 18 y.o though!), otherwise perfect for the age of this bottle. There has only ever been a few distillery bottlings of Glendullan done and as far as I know only ever one at 82.3 proof |

75cl/26.4 fl.oz, 40% vol/70 proof I think this is a rarer bottling than most would think? In Zagattis 1st book where he lists over 226 bottles of Glen Grant , there is only 2 squat bottles by the distillery of the 12 y.o. This surprises me a great deal. I think this is therefore quite an iconic bottle from this world famous distillery. It is interesting to note that it is not an Italian bottling and that it is 26.4 fl.oz not 23 2/3 fl.oz - Very interesting. Not boxed. |

To commemorate the 2004 opening of the distillery visitor centre, this was a limited edition of 274 bottles of which this is bottle number 131 from cask number 4696. Apparently these are selling for a lot of money now. |

Aside from the old 8 y.o. we sold to a very happy collector friend in Holland this has to be the best Tamdhu I have ever seen. With the Tamdhu "Burn" label, this is a squat bottle, almost like a Mateus style?, in a dumpy box with a clear front. I believe this was a Portuguese export bottle? |
